Last night I was surfing the Net, and came across a picture of a man being gored by a bull. It was completely by accident, and after that I was having a hard time getting the image out of my head. Shocked

The most unexpected images can affect and haunt you. Unfortunately, it seems that the more unpleasant the image, the deeper it goes, and the longer it last.

I got free tickets to an advanced screening of The Social Network - the movie about the founders of Facebook.

Loved it. It's really interesting and entertaining. Very well written, and even funny at times. It is a story about jealousy, greed, envy, power, values and friendships.

I highly recommend it.

Holidays are here! After a week at home, I feel relaxed yet productive. An application for pay rise finished, weeding done, lawn mowed, washing dried, naps had, several bottles of vino, walkies, argument with moron ...

BTW Yesterday, I celebrated my first anniversary as a home owner. It has been a whole year since I pulled on my big girl's undies and became officially and permanently in debt.

I get some of them just automatically sent to me (I've gotten put on lists for special screenings in the past and now I automatically get them) and others I get free through connections (for example, I got free tickets for all the movies at DIFF because of someone I knew).

speaking of eating: just heard on the radio that tomorrow (sept 29) all the proceeds from chilli's restaurants will go to st jude children's hospital. very nice.

I'm not fond of champagne but I just had to finish the bottle beore the bubbles dispersed. That's logical, isn't it?

I once kept an opened bottle of champange bubbly for weeks by "corking" it with a strawberry. The top of the strawberry shriveled, but the part inside the bottle was plump and red. Alcohol works well as a preservative/pickling agent.
