sometime it amazes me how long we've been around...nearly 5 years. we beat the GALS site by six months, and have seen so many websites come and go in that time. sometimes i wish i had take the time to learn how to do an actual webpage back then. just think! we might have been invited to that last fansite conference call. Sad

anyhow.....i love gerry, but keeping up with all the news and pics and stuff has become a fulltime job, and i'm a little burnt out!! LOL!!

I asked Tamara from .net about how to get invited to those calls, and apparently there's a list. If you get in touch with her, perhaps she'll add your name. She added mine, on behalf of the Pantry, and submitted it to Gerry's publicist this past week. I do know the last conference call was only 3 sites and after Dayna got booted, it amounted to about a 10 minute call. If Gerry's people are planning on adding to the list of sites, now would be a good time to inquire since it seems a few that used to be involved have folded.

As far as being burned out, I completely understand. I'm going through that right now, so in some twisted way I'm glad Gerry isn't filming right now. Wink

i've lost touch with tamara. used to talk to her a bit back in the day with gb.net was just a "baby" site, but since they got so big, i got out of the loop.

i remember the last conference call (before this one!) there were quite a few site involved. i was shocked when i found out they were down to 3, and i hated that dayna got booted!! i know linda dumped the "angels" site, but i wonder what happened to all the others?

i know you can relate to the burnout!!!!! LOL!!! someone pointed out to me a few weeks ago that the bigger sites have teams of admins keeping up with all the news and pics, and on my group i have ME and ME alone! still? i manage to keep up with them. maybe not for long, tho.....

i hope gerry takes that long vacation to the north pole!!! HE needs a vacation and so do we!!!! lol!

i tried!!!! asked SEVERAL times. no one wanted the job!! lol! we have several mods over there, but no one volunteered to take over the "news posting" job for awhile. i guess they all know that it really is time consuming, and no one wanted to be burdened with it.

honestly? i would just STOP posting, but i hate to because i've been at it so long. if you look at all the zillions of yahoo groups for gerry that are out there, PRIDE is the oldest still active one. it really is an informative group and i hate to just trash it after years and years of work. but.....it's not fun for me anymore, so i have to decide what to do!

and after all.....all the news and pics that get posted there are other places on the net as well.......HERE for example!

Wow, I didn't know any of this, Sami. Or DK. Didn't know about the conference call problems.

But I completely understand the whole rollercoaster ride of doing sites. I just started a forum but I've been involved as a mod of different forums and owner of sites. Luckily Gman keeps everyone busy.

Burn out would be nice. My closest to fandomness is a D-list actor who's not in the US and doing an okay foreign TV series and bunch of crap movies. No news, no pictures, no TV shows, no movies, no DVDs, no appearances, no articles, no interviews, no Twitters to look forward to.

So he's doing a convention next summer not in the US. Next summer. yay.

ya know...when i started being a gerry fan about 9 years ago, i had to answer the question "gerard WHO?" all the time. now....it ain't like that. lol!!! i guess that's where part of the burnout comes in. a few years ago...keeping up with all the news, pics, etc didn't feel like a fulltime unpaid job!! HA!!!

i think i need to find someone unknown to be gaga over again.....
